Yogi Bhajan's Yogi TeaIn Ayurvedic this tea recipe is known to help improve digestion, purify the blood, strengthen immune system, ward off intestinal parasites, and increase vitality. 4 qts of water 25 wholes cloves 30 peppercorns 25 green cardamon pods 6-8 3/4" cinnamon sticks 3-4" knob of ginger, scrubbed and sliced 1 tsp. loose black tea or 2 tea backs * optional 1 Tbsp fennel seeds - try it sometimes for a slightly sweeter tea Bring water to fast boil & throw in cloves until they are dancing for about 1 minute. Then add the other spices. Lower heat to a slow simmer and let simmer for about 1 hr. Turn off and add tea. Let sit for at least 1 hr, I like to leave it over night. Strain and refrigerate. Warm up as needed with milk or milk alternative and honey to taste. The honey and milk work with the tea to enhance the healing effects. | ![]() |
